Anyone got either of these weather station

I have this one from Oregon Scientific.

Not a full-blown weather station, but it really does a fair job of predicting the upcoming weather. Shows indoor/outdoor temps and humidity at the same time. Sets itself via atomic clock. And I like having the multiple outdoor wireless sensors so I can monitor the temp in my garage in the winter and know when the heat has been on long enough so I can go out and work.

I think my brother has the bottom one, I don't think it will auto switch between the two temperatures though, I shall try and find out

This is the one Ive got at the moment, had it for about 3yrs now, and want to get 1 that shows you the windspeed and dir, and rain gauge. But like I say I cant decide on those 2!!

The outdoor temp is the top,, remember that heatwave we had last yr??

Well, my brother has the model just below that one (or the one before it) and you have to manually switch between them so I am told over the phone, so I'm not sure about that one in the link.

Sorry

Ive just realised with the Ventus weather station the outside temp sensor is built-in to the wind turbine/direction sensor so Im guessing because the wind turbine needs to be in a open area, the temp will be wrong in direct sunlight??

Like with my current weather station, Ive put my outside temp sensor undercover so the sun stays off it, to give real readings.

I want one too the one you can link to your PC. My current central heating sensor is on a north facing wall so no direct sunlight....

As is my temp sensor for my cheap 35 € sensor.

You need complete shade for the outside temp to give true readings.. Ive just emailed Ventus about this, and they have replied saying.......

Yes you have a point.

The temperature will be from the anemometer.

But you can add two extra thermohygrometers (model W044), which can be
placed in the shade etc.

What a dumb idea to have the temp sensor build in to the wind turbine tho.. This has put me right off buying the Ventus and I refuse buying a extra temp sensor. Theirs no point in buying it, if its going to give false readings is there.... dumb ass Ventus:D

my garage wall is shaded it doesn't receive any sunlight. So ventus are out due to stupidity :p

So Im deff going to get the Oregon weather station with the 3 separate sensors, windspeed/direction, rain gauge and temp. You can buy a solar panel for the windspeed/direction sensor for a extra £20, so I might get 1 in the future. But apparently the solar panel doesn't store the energy anywhere, so the batteries are still needed for the nights.

Heres some pics of my new Oregon WMR80 station, a tad of a upgrade. The temp sensor is under a kind of shelter with a long overhanging roof so no sun can get to it.

I was thinking about buying one of these until I saw a review where they all gave wildly different results. I've forgotten who review it, think it was on the Gadget show.

The worst thing is finding decent places for all the sensor so you get accurate readings,, the worst is the temp sensor to find a place for, cos it has to be kept out of the sun and rain. But theirs some weather station temp sensors that are shielded from the sun and rain, so makes them easier to place.

Today the wind has next to nothing, but the wind sensor was spinning and moving all over the place, I dont understand how it gets frozen up in winter if its aways moving, because you need something to stay still to freeze dont you?
