Well done on the PB FB, absolutely brilliant effort. Know how you feel about not cracking the hour mark because I was a few mins off breaking 4 hrs, but it was my first marathon and I did bloody well so I've still got a stupid grin on my face regardless.
I was in pen 8 on blue start, so waaaay back in the field. It stressed me out quite a lot because I was constantly dodging and weaving around people who were much slower than me. In fact, I spent most of the race overtaking people. I guess they don't have much choice though since a huge amount of people put 4:30 on their entry forms. I still managed a pretty constant pace all the way around though, even when I hit the wall at mile 23-25 and just wanted to give up. It felt like I was barely moving, but my Garmin pace says otherwise. Thankfully my friends were at mile 25 and that really put the wind in my sails and helped me push on.
I had 3 goals in my head. The first was just to get through it and finish. The second was a time I would be happy with. That was 4:30. The third was my ultimate dream time if everything went perfectly, and that was 4:00. I was 3 minutes 32 seconds off that, so I really can't be upset or annoyed.

The amount of support on the route was absolutely incredible. I had my name on my shirt and to hear everyone shouting at your is just so motivating. I loved it (even miles 23-25 looking back) and would do it again in a heartbeat.
My legs, however, are NOT happy today. My hips, glutes, knees and toes really ache today and I'm hobbling around in much pain. Still, I have my medal and I'm a very VERY happy bunny. I am officially a marathon runner
