How do I get a shop sponsoring me?

I want some acoustic foam from a shop called Stagebeat which I want to use in my next build it costs £9.49 for two sheets of 480 x 520. I want 6 sheets. How do I ask them on the phone? Will I need to add advertising to my case and make a build log to mention them? (i thinking of a build log anyway). This is the first time I've asked for advertising and haven't done any case modding before so I have nothing to show them. I plan to watercool the components so this will be the whole hog nothing half asked. What do you think?

Can't see why they'd give you free products, which is all it seems you're looking for, unless your doing something that's going to attract media attention of some sort.

What are you doing that's so special?

I don't see why a music store would sponsor you doing a computer build...

And you probably won't get anything from anyone, if it's your first ever modding build.

I must have missed something, it sounded like you wanted a shop to give you some free soundproofing for your computer case in exchange for a small mention on the case. That would be crazy talk.

As I said in the other thread....

What's in it for the shop? It sounds like you just want free stuff...

Also, it's usually companies, not shops which do most of the sponsoring.

No , just give them your credit card details like every other person does.

There is a standard form you'll need to fill in which covers exactly the scenario you are describing. You'll need to send it off to the 'Bureau for Free Provision of Soundproofing Materials to Consumers Building a PC in their Bedrooms.
Seriously, you'd be amazed how commonplace this query is. It's up there with the little advertised but greatly required driving lessons for goldfish scheme.

several people in the case forum have got sponsorship, not sure how many of them visit GD though. find a sponsored case mod and email them is the best way.

A shop is a bad place to start.

You want 6 sheets @ £5 / sheet.

They are re-sellers as they don't directly manufacture - They sell on for a small margin of profit.

Say they make 50p per sheet profit.

What you are asking is the profit from the next 60 sheets that they sell, that could be months of selling this item.

In return for what ?

Sponsorship is very hard to get.

Direct manufacturer sponsorship is what you should look at imo.

BUT, You need a track record to show that you're not just blagging a freebie.

I'm on my 3rd case mod, my last one has appeared in CustomPC magazine, but getting sponsorship is still very difficult.

I've had a total of 4 sponsors over my last 2 builds. In return i feature them in build logs, that seem to attract a reasonable audience amongst fellow modders, and likewise a resonable advertising return for these companies.

The product must be relevant to the audience.
You must have a history of complete projects.
Be prepared to hear nothing back from most companies.

Good luck.

Lol I wonder if OCUK will give me free stuff if I put their logo on the side of my case

I'm not asking for £100s if stuff mate!

And thanks for the other replies I thought it would be hard especially as I haven't fully modded a case before.
