Not on standard cams they don't. That's ignoring any other work that would be needed to safely see 9k+ RPM

The immobilizer packed up and needed replacing, which would've needed an ECU to match it, plus replacement key and programming so basically, waaay more than the car was worth.
Sold it over the yard for £100 yesterday to a guy who wants to use it for banger racing \o/

stock rev limiter is 8.4k iirc. peak power comes in around 8k.
most will show revs up to 9k as the gauges are normally inaccurate.
spoon ecu takes this up to 9.2k. stock valve train can take 9.5k with ease apparently.
