Not really, once the fanboys had gotten theirs it was always going to be slim pickings for the poor old green team.

Well I stupidly enough sold my 2 5870's the other day and was mulling the last 3 days about getting 2 5970's or possibly a 2gig 5870 for now and trifire it with a 4gig 5970 when it comes out. Luckily for once I am in the position to be able to do this financially.

But I just broke down 10 minutes ago and ordered 2 480 Zotacs. Money precharged on credit card. And it's still showing as 7 in stock. So obviously OcUK's stock system isn't real time. It's very possible these could already be gone. Of course if that happens, I'll ask for a refund immediately.

I also managed to get a solid sidepanel for my 800D and am now in the process of adding 2 x 140mm blowholes to cool the gpu's. Should be sweet when I'm done.

Just seen the review for the HD 5970 TOXIC, maybe the folks that were waiting for the 480 are now going to get the toxic instead. After all if you can afford £478 for a card then you can probably manage £600 for the toxic.

Imo I think ATI and Nvidia are really starting to take the p**s with the price of cards now anyway. You can say all you want about $-£ rate exchange but the bottom line is Red and Green are laughing all the way to the bank.

Oops, got into a bit of a rant their didn't I?

I agree that the prices are becoming very uncomfortable.

You'd be waiting until ATI releases their 6XXX series probably, then you may as well get 1 of those.

Actually your credit card is precharged the second the order goes through which bascially means your available funds on your card is reduced. I checked online :) However the money doesn't actually move for about 36 hours into OcUk's account, which is plenty of time for me to verify if the 480's have shipped or else cancel the order, in which case OcUK wouldn't complete the transaction and the precharge would drop off the card in 5 working days.
