Macbook Pro - buy now, or wait?

Anyone with the high res 15" able to take a picture illustrating how readable text is. Pictures I've found on the net are all resized and fairly small so not really able to tell. Also how long does it usually take to deliver non-stock models, i know it estimates 5-7 business days but what have most people found it to be on average?

1680x1050 screen vs 1440x900 on the standard res. Yours is the exact model i'm planning on going for. If you see my previous post I just want to see a comparison of the two as I'm a tad worried that the resolution will make it an unbearable strain to read (haven't got time to go to the apple store).

Hmm.

I can't make my mind up between, The 13" MacBook Pro and the 15" MacBook Pro + the high ress display.

Both would be the first basic models if that makes sense. I'd like to upgrade the hard drive, but can this be done at a later date? I have 500 GB main in this machine (Quad core, 4GB, 260, 24") and I'm using 107 on this.

My gaming hard drive is 320 and is full, but wouldn't be using my MacBook for gaming, well other then the odd bit of WoW or FM on the train ;)

I had the 13" MBP for a while and I loved it - apart from the fact the resolution was just too low. The resultant DPI was just too low for a screen you end up sitting so close to (used it mostly on my lap or in bed).

My bro is getting a 15" i5, and I'm tempted to do the same. I would definitely get the higher resolution as a result of my gripes with the 13".

Edit: yes you can upgrade the HDD later. You'll be able to pick up a better performing drive for less money than what Apple would offer you as a CTO upgrade.

So true. *looks at signature*

Saw your thread earlier, have exactly the same spec as you so quite interested to see what it goes for. Good to see it's held it's value so well though. Should take a lot of the sting out of any potential upgrade. Good luck with the sale btw.

Yay ^^ I had a full on response about my experience with the 15" mbp from last summer (the last update) and how amazing it has been :D (but my internet died before i could send it)

Anyway the 15" spec is the best balance of portability, performance and battery life in my opinion! (I know the spec of the 13" and the size of the battery in the 17" do mean it hasnt really got the top performance on the battery front but 3 hours of FM off the battery is more than impressive in my view) and its done very very well as a complete replacement to all my computing needs :)

I saw feeks thread too, nice to see it holds that much value after nearly a year!

It would be nice if there had even been a nibble. I've just dropped the price. Unfortunately I need to raise some cash fairly quickly and it's the only way. Booooo.

I'm gutted it's for sale now. If it was in a few weeks when i'm back in the UK I would have had your hand off for it!

My Macbook Pro 15" High Res Glossy has finally arrived.
First time mac user, so it still all feels so very new. I must say the keyboard on this thing is really nice.

Received mine too today :D

How do i go about checking how many years warranty i have with it?

Want to make sure I've got the full 3 years by purchasing through HE.

I'm so tempted, the Macbook Pro's have been looking mighty fine but I've got an old Acer to clear out to take the sting out of the purchase :D
