I've never ever felt sorry for Gordon Brown - but getting caught doing that - something that all the others would probably have done as well - that facepalm, oh dearrr hes just lost lots of votes.

Yes, even if she was a bigot, it's irrelevant. Because GB shouldn't have said that about her, or if he really believed it, then challenged her about her views

What’s also telling that no ones mentioned yet is that the whole thing is staged managed, the process of it all broke down. At least DC likes to confront people that challenge him

they have shown the conversation, repeatedly, she comes across as a right thick plank asking ill structured questions, GB gave sensible, slick answers ( exactly what youd expect from any politician ). she was satisfied with his answers, GB then went away & rammed both feet firmly in his own mouth.

They've always been on my side, and I on theirs. They just mistakenly voted for a party who they understandably thought stood up for them, when in fact nothing could be further from the truth.

Without that we can't really say if he was right or wrong to call her that, but judging from that quote I'm leaning towards thinking she probably might be a bigot. Either way it's still a gaffe though, and he must be kicking himself for saying it.

I tend to agree, he should have explained why he described her in that manner rather than say sorry for it. Would have gained more respect in my eyes if he had done that. Stand firm, if he truly believes she is a bigot (and there is nothing wrong with thinking someone is a bigot imo), then explain why she is a bigot rather than apologise for calling her one.

By simply saying sorry for it, it just smacks of the old act of not being sorry for what was done but being sorry for getting caught.
