IN STOCK NOW ZOTAC 470 & 480 GRAPHICS CARDS

Well I stupidly enough sold my 2 5870's the other day and was mulling the last 3 days about getting 2 5970's or possibly a 2gig 5870 for now and trifire it with a 4gig 5970 when it comes out. Luckily for once I am in the position to be able to do this financially.

But I just broke down 10 minutes ago and ordered 2 480 Zotacs. Money precharged on credit card. And it's still showing as 7 in stock. So obviously OcUK's stock system isn't real time. It's very possible these could already be gone. Of course if that happens, I'll ask for a refund immediately.

I also managed to get a solid sidepanel for my 800D and am now in the process of adding 2 x 140mm blowholes to cool the gpu's. Should be sweet when I'm done.

and with the summer coming up you'll also be purchasing an air conditioning unit for your case.

Seems reasonable to assume that due to both companies not having high volume production means that prices will be high.

Wish i could afford either of the top cards, but some people can only mud sling around here if someone chooses something other than their brand favorite. Shame on you.

It's a real shame for all of us hardware lovers that 40nm yields at TSMC are so pathetic. This was always going to affect Nvidia more as they had the larger and more complicated chip to produce. Even though the price of the cards are crazy, its understandable considering the GPUs are costing Nvidia over $300 each, the yields are so poor. Compare that to about $50 per GPU for ATI.

For the sake of all us pull you finger out of your a**e TSMC!

why thats silly?

Why would you buy card A is it was inferior to card B, simply because card A was manufactured by company X?

I know people have reasons for choosing one over another, but it's normally based on functionality and features, and not simply the logo.

Well I missed the boat as predicted. Even though 7 480s in stock showing when I ordered 2 last night. But OcUK were cool and refunded me straight away. Looks like it's 3 x 5870 Toxic 2GIG's in trifire for me.

re:

I don't get brand loyalty...

Brand Loyalty is everywhere and I can totally understand brand Loyalty.

I have used Nvida cards for years and not once have they let me down.

I guess its the same with certain ATI users, they basically have used that brand for years and never had prolems and from that experience they gain Brand loyalty :)

Brand Loyalty is everywhere not just in PC components :D

Cheers
