TVR?

Smolenski confirmed the choice of 'Vette power in a recent interview: ""We looked at every engine available, including making our own, and decided that the Corvette was the most powerful off-the-shelf design going. Fitting it to our chassis allows us to meet all current regulations and is not too big a step," he told a reporter.

Told you so ;)

Agree with the comments on there though, with the way things are going all that's going to be British about it is the name, but it is certainly a step in the right direction with sourcing a new engine, should've done that years ago instead of sticking with the S6.

American engines, built in Germany, and a £70k+ price tag. Couldn't be further from the original TVR philosophy.
What, awkward looking kit cars with knackered V8's pulled out of dead Rover P5's? :D

I think crate engines can only be a good thing.TVR are well known for their lack of reliability and fair play for them for using their own engines, but it must have cost the company a fortune.

The likelyhood of it reaching production is still hilariously low as always, probably just moleskins shouting about things.

Especially given that if you're being pedantic enough you could effectively class the RV8 as an American engine as well, after all, it was one! :D

TVR = Mad fast. Mad reliatbility. Mad looks and ofcourse...

MAD NOISE!!!

I'd like to see TVR back - even if it is Germericanitish. So long as sticks to the right vibe like the Sagaris' T350s etc.
