***Official Halo Reach Beta Thread***

I have ODST so getting ready for the beta but ordered the legendary set of reach from GAME now too. I simply couldn't resist and I have the legendary set of halo 3 (bought it second hand but it was pretty good condition) and think the price is justified (if you like the figure enough).
 
Just got an Elite (Falcon) from the bay. Also managed to get a 20gig hard drive for £20 which I thought was ok.
Turned out to be a Halo 3 hard drive though?? It works fine so no big deal.
Just need to get ODST and I'm set. Hope the download for reach isn't too big for my little 20gig :D
 
Servers are going to get destroyed on release... maybe they will host torrents or on usenet so we can download and transfer via USB? :)
 
According to the Xbox.com countdown it goes live at midnight so it shouldn't be too bad if you're one of the first in line, and if not just set it off over night to download and it will be done in the morning. I also can't see it being much more then 1GB-1.5GB maybe 2GB maximum.

It's exactly 1 gig. The friends and family beta started already, and hasn't crashed or died. I still strongly believe we won't be able to play on Monday, or maybe even Tuesday. The demand for the beta is reaching silly levels. Once several million ODST owners hit the floodgates - that's it. The servers will be knocked out for six.

There hasn't been a single game on 360/PS3 where a public beta opened and worked on the first day. This won't stop all the eventual whining posts though.

I hate that they totally messed up the adverts. Spartan 3??? This game is based pre-Halo CE. The Spartans involved are those from the first round of "recruits" i.e. the Spartan II project which created the Chief.

It makes me so mad when people mess things up because they fail at life. :mad:

The S3 project established before the events of CE. Noble Team is a completely new story and has nothing to do with Fall of Reach characters.

The Spartan III project was started in 2531 and Halo: Reach takes place in 2552.
