WTF Has Happened to STEAM ...

Cloud, says it all really :)

hardly any games use it and it just saves your game settings for multiple pcs.

the games will run fine without it and still remember the settings unless you are on a different pc.

You get the error whenever steam friends goes down for a while.

Its not hijacked, if your logged in on computer A and log in to steam on computer B it just logs you out of comptuer A.

Unless theyve changed that if with the new update, its definitely a local problem.

but i only have 1 computer ... anyway i've just formatted and will reinstall STEAM tomorrow, hopefully it will work .....

I am currently downloading a iso of my game so i can play it don't like to but that's the way it going to have to be. I am not going to wait a week/month however long Valve need to pull their finger out and get this sorted shouldn't have released it :(

Thank goodness I only buy hardcopy games, even if they sometimes need Steam registration. That's difficult enough for me to stomach and I ALWAYS play in offline mode only. I only hope that still works, I haven't updated Steam and now I'm bloody well not going to either!

I keep following these threads where someone is full of enthusiasm for Steam until he comes a cropper and starts a bile thread. Sooner or later everyone seems to go titties up with this stuff.

How on earth do you all put up with it?

This really just looks like a case of user error (definitely with you deleting all your games) and a local PC issue.

funny.. my steam is having issues too.. i cannot SEE any servers.. doesn't matter which way i go.. trough the steam/view/servers or in game.. some servers show up and then disappear.. and thats with every game.. nice one.

Bought Deus Ex last week when it was on offer.

Played all week no problems - now says failed to find steam when I try to login.

Any suggestions ?

I do think there are some issues with Steam that are not entirely "operator error". I'm sure valve is trying to iron out the problems as we type but maybe your better off asking questions on the dedicated Steam forums?

..so for years and years i've used STEAM with no problems. Then this update seems to messed everything up .....

Reformatted my PC and so far everything seem to be running OK ....
