WTF Has Happened to STEAM ...

I like the way it looks. The old steam was outdated and wasted a lot of space. The new version is buggy as hell though. BF2 and L4D2 have been crashing repeatedly since the update. Is anyone else getting that?

What do you mean crashing repeatedly? As in hard lock ups with looping sound?

If so im having this issue and want to kill someone because of it.

I miss bf2.
 
With BF2 it looks like it's trying to draw a different part of the map over what I'm supposed to be seeing, that's the best I can describe it. It looks a little bit like I'm about to fall through the floor into nothingness (Quake and Unreal used to do this for me). L4D2 takes ages to start up, struggles to connect to any game (it was bad before but now it's worse) and then kicks me for not being logged into steam.

Presumably steam are working on an update, just need to be patient.

I'm not saying you're wrong or anything, but how would Steam having problem make those games crash? I mean, Steam just runs in the background, so how would a new interface make games crash?

...well from my point of view before the update i was playing Just Cause 2 at 100+ FPS.

... now it's dipping to 18 FPS

EDIT: VSYNC is now turned off ... back to normal :)

I've had no problems either. When I first got the beta 1 or 2 months ago it seemed a little sluggish, but now I've either got used to it or the daily patches fixed it.

I have had no problems, i hcnaged so that it updated to the beta version, i have had the beta of that version for about a monthish now i tihnk, maybe a bit longer and it has been working fine for me all the time, no issues :S, then again i am running Xp :S
