Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is the greatest video game sequel ever made

It's good, but It's not right.:D

Fail, HL2 was okay not a touch on the first :P But i kinda have to agree Uncharted2 is one of my fav sequels of all time however Resi2 is a very close second

2/3 of HL1 was good.

All of HL2 was good and was and still is technically brilliant.

really?
The first one was good until they put in weird creatures and as soon as they showed up in the second one it was game over for me. I really didnt see the point in having them.

This.

And you're forgetting Baldurs Gate and Mass Effect.

It was a bloody awful sequel. They made it even more cinematic (to the point where the hand to hand combat was a joke, involving tapping just one button until it slows down and then finishing with triangle), the story did nothing interesting and felt like a drawn out version of the first one (since it just followed the hunt treasure, bad guy betray you / sully, chase bad guy, run into monsters, get treasure, bad guy take treasure, go beat bad guy) with some obvious extras chucked into UC 2 but nothing particularly interesting other than the train scene which sadly lost it's effect the second time you did it since it just revealed how scripted it was as it had no alternate climbing paths so you were forced to redo a long, slow climb and have stuff unfold as you knew they would (the rocks falling etc.).
Then the climbing mechanics became more fiddly with the distance you needed to jump (jump by pressing x and holding toward it rather than it just automatically moving if it's close enough) varying oddly. Did the characters personalities change or develop? No they just became insolated version of themselves following the roles already set out.
So the climbing (platforming) and the combat (only hand to hand mind) got worse, just the graphics got better and this is suddenly the greatest sequel ever? Even the pacing of the story was a little bad and took too long, honestly why did the russian guy seem to have an army that can just jump into Napal and not have the military fight back? It even had more annoying enemy with the weird *spoiler* yeti like things that ended up being guys in suits *end spoiler* being stupidly hard to kill. Not hard because they're tough to beat just because they're bullet sponges, even on normal mode I shot those guys so much I couldn't understand why I'd want to play a higher difficulty.

It's a decent game but god is it over rated.

I felt the same way about Far Cry, mainly because the monsters scared the crap out of me. On a related note, that game has probably the worst sequel ever made.

Better than Super Mario Bros 3 and Baldurs gate 2, i think not.

Sequel is defined as portraying events closely or otherwise following the previous or rather first story. In other words it is a continuation of events or characters of a story or arc and is defined as as the second part of because there is TWO OF THEM!!!!

So how prey tell is Super Mario Bros 3 in any such way a sequel?

Also agreed that Farcry 2 was without a doubt the worst follow up. It had zero to do with the first of the saga and therefore should not have been called Farcry2 and should have instead called Fist full or Mercenary or something.

Best sequels for me personally are
Resident Evil 2
Solider of Fortune 2
Homeworld 2
Supreme Commander (being the sequel to TA)

RE2 on a strict level, but Final Fantasy VII easily pips it by a country mile. Tekken 2 comes close as well.

Funnily enough - all PS1 games.

I bought a PS3 last week and it came with this. Never played the first one but so far I am quite liking it. Sometimes it feels a little limited in control compared to Assassins Creed, but I am really loving the plot and graphics so far.

To be honest, just give DF's a miss. Playing the AT's first will just make you hate the first one.

I'd agree with best sequel this generation (so far).

Ever made, I'll have to jump on the Resident Evil 2 wagon, brutal.
