Good performance by Clegg on education - the teacher who asked the question certainly seemed to agree with him. Let's vote for real change and break the link between poverty and poor educational performance.

I'm with Clegg on the scrappage of University fees.

How can we expect the future of this country to have a massive debt before they have even started earning a wage? How can we expect them to get on the housing ladder, with a large debt? How can we expect to improve our economy when our future generations have thousands of pounds worth of debt?

Because it's paid back slowly and has very little interest.

I wouldn't mind not having tuition fees though, already paid £7k so far.

We aren't America.

Having the future of this country start their career with thousands of pounds worth of debt is not proactive, it is of no benefit. Fact.
Jesus. You're a politician. You just repeated your point without answering my rebuttal.

American's - who share similar GDP, debt and so on, cope.

no they don't, most can't pay there way through.
I meant those that gradate, i.e. those that have paid it somehow.

Only those that have meaningless degrees which mean they cant secure higher paid work will struggle to pay off tuition fees at current rates

cor Gordon doesn't like it when tax credits cut from those that can afford to pay the difference.

The Gordon way is supply benefits in kind and income transfers as bribes - then, despite being full of administration costs and wastage he makes ridiculous claims when people suggest they get cut

Nick Clegg uses an interesting technique. He directly speaks to the person whom asks the question, and uses them and their perhaps subtle actions that may be agreeing with him to boost him up and make his statements more confident and emphatic.

American's cope pretty well with 10x our fees in some cases.

Cope pretty well is maybe an exaggeration, the bias towards wealth and middle class and above students at college in the US is still substantial and they have far more scholarships and such than we do. They also have a history of that system, the UK has historically had a lower level of uni attendance and no fees. A system which worked well.
