E46 3 SERIES 330I

I could not buy a leather seated car without heated seats, i use mine 95% of the year, even if it's just the first 5 minutes in the morning when I first get in it, it's absolutely awesome :)

I totally disagree, I never seem to need them and never used them when I had them. Even in the freezing cold I sit on the seats and within a few seconds they are comfortable anyway.

What I do really, really wish I had in the winter is a heated steering wheel though, a leather steering wheel in the freezing cold is torture!

Fox in 'optional extra he doesn't have isn't worth having' shocker ;). My heated seats are one of my favourite options along with nav, which fox doesn't think is worth having either. :p

I dont have the heated steeering wheel option either, so thats that theory blown. And nav is definately worth having on a 3 or a 5, just not on a Z4 with its pop up screen ;)

i had heated seats in my Mondeo. The only thing they really got used for was saying 'look and it has heated seats!'.

Its obviusly just personal preference, but the fact its personal preference makes it hard to make a case for them as a must have really.

I've found heated seats are useful in things like the mx5 with the top down when it's sunny but chilly out, Other than that they get used as fox says "look it has heated seats"

I'm sorry, i'm with fox on this one - i honestly couldn't think of a time where i longed for heated seats. Even in the winter, my seats weren't that cold? I'd much rather have electric seats.

The must have items for me on the 330 would be leather, bi-xenon's and sat nav - but finding one with these options, in a good condition, within an acceptable distance of you, with a good service history and at the right price is increasingly rare. That's why i decided to drop the sat nav option from my "must have" options.

My car has no heated seats but the company car I also drive when visiting other sites does and I never use it?

I sit on the leather seat, it automagically warms up within a minute (because I have a hot bum ayeeeeeee!) - So where's the beef?

Oh and climate control more than caters for comfort =]

Weirdly I prefer the manual seats in my 325i to my electric ones in the Z4. Much quicker to adjust rather than waiting for slow motors.

The heated seats in the Z4 are heaven in the winter. Crisp sunny morning, top down, warm bum - it's bliss.

LOL heated seat debate. I would turn down a car due to lack of that option unless it was an astonishingly good deal, and one which i couldnt pass up. So with wicksta and tom there. I use mine virtually all of the time except when it is warm, which late face it in england is rare. Luckily mine is complemented by a heated wheel too though

To be honest, I'm kind of split down the middle regarding heated seats. In our old 9000 and S80 and even in my dads new 300C heated seats are an absolute life saver as the leather was/is always freezing cold in the morning and took a good 5mins or so to become bearable.

HOWEVER, in my 325 I haven't ever needed heated seats which is quite strange, they are leather again but they don't stay cold for long at all so I've never found myself wishing I had the heated seats option.

I've just looked at a 2005 330 ci sport with sat nav. No heated seats or xenons though. No central arm rest either frustratingly. All four alloys were corroded and lightly kerbed.

1. The garage mentioned that xenons can be retro-fitted and the alloys can be refurbished. How much is that likely to cost?

2. I think the motor has the basic stereo package. Is it worth holding out for one with an upgraded stereo and speakers? (I've already read to avoid the Harman Kardon option).

3. How much is a fair price for the motor? It has 60k, 1 previous owner and a FBMWSH.

Thanks

Yeah was going to say, the armrest on E9x is part of the centre console itself, without the armrest there'd be no cover for the cubby holes underneath surely!

Unless the optional armrest is an upgraded armrest with funky adjustments?

Surely all E9x have an armrest, there's a bleeding transmission tunnel and handbrake housing there..
That'll be the sliding one.

yeah the £110 cost option does say it slides

I assumed without it you didnt have a nice armrest, just a cover or something.
