Hairdresser Ahoy! - Pics to port! (New Car Thread)

You've some way to go you obtain Howard-esque levels of Salon expertise, but give it time.

A very nice car indeed sir. Enjoy it :)

Must save harder. Think I've mised out on getting one this year :(
If you feel like you are squeezing it in then don't get one. I was looking a lot last year. It would have stretched me financially and I had missed some of summer. I forgot about it over the winter and started up the search again in March. It hasn't destroyed my savings and I can enjoy the main part of summer.

Thanks for all the comments so far, much appreciated.

Any other owners have advice on getting my iPhone as my music source?

I've only found two niggles so far. Where do I put my drinks bottle and the CD player doesn't play data CDs so no massive MP3 CDs...

Very nice, you'll need to buy some kitten mittens though:

Oh yes! Love that video.

Nice car, always thought that they look a bit iffy with the roof up though

I have a question....how much for a trim, not too much off the top? :p

Re the iPhone, the best option is to get an intravee, which replaces the CD changer and integrates with the stereo and screen very nicely. Cheaper options include an aux-in cable, which can be DIY retro-fitted for not a lot (main dealer will sting you to fit this). Much more infor on both routes can be found by searching here:

Re the drinks bottle, you can retro-fit cup holders easily if you don't have them. They fit just under the outermost dash air vents, and replace the blanking plates you'll have. From memory they are about £25 each. Alternatively if you're looking to hold a closed drinks bottle temporarily you could look to mount an empty first aid kit drawer under the drivers side seat and pop the bottle in there. Check that the bvottle you drink from fits in the drawer under the passenger's side first though before going down this route.

Finally! Congrats mate I know how long you've wanted one! Looks really good and the best colour too ;)

Get those ray-bans out :p

g0rd, very nice mate. Have been waiting for photos and the paint looks superb (I have a soft spot for black cars!)

BigT is correct, the cupholders are a cheap mod and the Auxillary port is a cheap fix to get "tunez" from your ipod/iphone played through the soundsystem. I am still looking to see what options there are for upgrading audio myself.

Another cheap fix is the stubby aeriel for £5-10......and maybe detangoing sometime in the future?

Fantastic purchase mate, I know what it's like to save for ages for something and you held your patience (only just.... with no thanks to our jibes every few months!) Just need that sun out so you can pop down to me for a bit of top down hooning!

Thanks for the info guys. Will probably be looking at the aux cable. I don't think switching out the changer will be worth it, but I'll give the z4 forums a check and see what the crack is. And the drinks holders, sounds like a simple fit so will get looking for some of those too.

Get those ray-bans out :p
I have mirrored aviators, they were pre car.

Next on the purchase list is some decent cleaning products. The polo just had fairy liquid treatment, but I think I'll get some decent stuff now. Any recommendations? I'll check that cleaning thread too.

Get a cap.

No really.

Not something I appreciated till sitting in traffic on a hot summers day, sun right above me glaring the hell out of me over top of sunglasses!
