New build... Can you recommend me a case like P182 for around £150?

I'm going to build a new PC.

I love my Antec P182 but I'm going to give this to my sister and you can't buy really buy P182's now and I read that the P183 is not as good either.

The new PC case must be quiet!

Nice airflow is a bonus as well.

Oh, good cable management is essential too...

Over to you guys, thanks!!!

Fractal Design in a heartbeat, really good cases to build with. Not got one myself but built my mates. Very quiet, sleek, good looking, orgasmic case. In other words its a great solid case :D

The fractal design r2 is a sideways move from a p182 imo.

Much smaller and the antec has a far better design allowing you to remove one of the hdd cages for the front 120mm intake.

Lian Li PC-A70FB would be a good upgrade or for a little more around £170 Lian Li PC-A71FB.

C64, Fractal was sounding good until ya said its a a downgrade or sideways move from a P182!

Lian Li PC-A70FB looks nice but a little too big for me.

Essentially biggest thing inside will be my 5870 GPU.
I only got one optical drive, 1 SSD drive and 2 other SATA drives.

Well if you want smaller like a midi there's plenty of good cases to choose from just comes down to budget and whether looks and style are important to you.

I only thought that going from a p182 to an R2 in terms of space and versatility would be a sideways move.

The p182/3 is still probably one of the quietest cases going.

Under £100 I'd say take a look at the coolermaster dominator cm690 II as an alternative to the R2.

To me, as long as its on par with my P182 now, I'd be happy.

What is stopping me from getting another P182/3 is the crappy power button behind the door.

Didn't mean to put you off the r2 it's a great case I was just thinking from a p182 to and R2 wouldn't be much of an improvement in terms of space cable management quietness and performance, all of which the p182 scores highly in.
........... I've had my Fractal for a couple of days now - nice looking case, but I have to say I am not blown away by it.

I think, if you are going to fill the case, lots of the benefits are compromised - it will hold (in my setup) multiple 5xxx GPUs and 5 HDDs - but not silently or coolly. There are also a couple of design niggles (to my way of thinking) such as the extra inner doors covering the front intake fans, the raised seam which runs the full height of the case between back of mobo & behind HDD racks that prevents cables being run between the two areas ..... nothing serious, but an irritation.

However, the FD fans are pretty good - shifting good amounts of air quietly.

All in all - I don't think it is quite as good as my Antec 902 apart from the HDD bays which, although side on & therefore presenting more of an obstacle to the flow of air, are easy to use & look good. :)
This guy brings up some valid criticisms of it worth noting, I think it's better to focus on the negative sides of cases as those like the power button niggle you have with p182 are going to get on you're nerves.
Like my silverstone fortress ft01 it's a gorgeous case but the top fan filter issue just got on my nerves so much that I now run it as an exhaust, and when you read up on here or in the official threads it's rarely mentioned and an easy to look over failed design flaw.

What you don't want is to get a case that ends up a lot noisier and with more niggles that effect you than the p182 had.

Hey, I just wanna let you guys know that I bought a Fractal Design in the end...

Looking forward to putting it all together now.

Without door it leaks noise out, A71FB would be quiet variant.

Noise leaks everywhere...

Yea true just thought would be a case to consider if he changed his mind a bit about noise levels.
End of the day not much out there is going to be as quiet as a p182.
