Hi all

When I load up Sims 2 on my 2010 13" MBP with GeForce 320M graphics, I get an error saying 'Failed to find any DirextX 9.0c compatible graphics adaptors in this system!' nVidia drivers are already installed for the graphics card and are listed as being version 196.82 in the nVidia Control Panel. I've checked the nVidia website and this graphics card isn't even listed nevermind being able to download the latest drivers!

Can anyone tell me what the problem is and how to fix it?

Many thanks

Michael.

The card was made specifically for Apple, so there's no wonder it's not on the site yet.

Put the OS X install disc in, and browse for the drivers on the disc (using Windows device manager).

I bet its simply the game, might not like Windows 7, and also what if your running 64bit Win 7?

Download all updates for SIMs2 I bet there are many and then try.

They may well do, it was just a thought because when Snow Leopard was first released it didn't officially support Windows 7 in bootcamp and was patched later. It's worth checking though.

The nVidia drivers supplied on the OSX installation DVD are the latest available, and it seems to be these that are making Sims 2 unplayable. It looks like either the game needs patching (unlikely to happen) or the drivers need to be fixed. I can make the game run if I put -w in the target box for the exe, which forces the game to run in window mode.

They'll be a driver update at some point. The new macs are only a few weeks old. ;)
