I take it this is a standard radio style key for this type of Ford Radio irrespective of the car its in?

Its an M Reg **** pit with the standard for this age Ford radio

It's so old I can't even find a picture of it.

Anyone know what type of removal keys I need (other than brut force and a screwdriver ;) )
 
If it's a mk3 Fiesta you should be able to remove the stereo with a stretched out coat hangar to push to clips in on each side.

Yep, best way. Get it just sitting out of the slot, then wham a flat screwdriver in each side and lever it out. They're normally quite stiff so don't be shy ;)
