Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

Since the game is actually out now I suppose it is time to replace the Joystick + buttons on my Madcatz SE stick :)

I'm just wondering is it just the buttons and Joystick I need to buy or do I need to buy this aswell? I only ask because when you go to buy a Joystick part it says the cable isn't included and I would rather buy everything at once instead of having to buy the cable seperate if it's needed.

Nah for my SE I just used the same cable powering the crappy stock joystick!

I am loving this game, Guy is a lot of fun too it's great that they've put some really offensive based characters into the game.

Dudley rushdown is so much fun, same with Guy!

Edit: Still surprises me how crap uppercuts now are in the game, they always trade and Dudleys gets beat clean as anti-air.

It's similar to HDR in that regard, lots of trades in that game too.

If you do Dudleys overhead on Ryu when he does a wake up (non EX) uppercut it trades and Ryu gets hit to the floor. Same with Juris jumping fierce punch I think. (I think she beats them clean though)

I dont know if its me or if its my TE stick. I swear that when I do sonic booms facing left, I seem to jump on the forward motion.

Anything I can do to maintain my TE stick? I.e. clean it up or something?

Right, tomorrow is 'execution day'!! I'm gonna spend most of my time trying to sort out the fact that I can't pull of 90% of the things I intend to do when I intend to do them, in particular, the fact that 2xqcf from left to right is FAR more luck than judgement.

FADC -> ultra with the sulky Japanese guy is rare too.

Going to spend the day in the training room and doing trials facing each way. Hopefully I'll have a fair handle on Ryu, Abel and Dudley by the end of it, then once I get execution reasonably consistent I'll need to start on getting comfortable with combo's for each, then I need to work out how to use what I learn in practical situations............

Basically, starting from scratch :(

GG's to all I played today, and if you're on chuck me an invite. As above I probably won't play because I'll be in the training room, but I'll need breaks occasionally so I'll be up for a couple of games here and there :)

If you want to up your execution some then I would recommend trying the following combo;

cr.lk > cr.lk > cr.lp > fierce tiger uppercut (Sagat)

When I got that down and could do it consistently I found a lot of other trials/combos much easier to do too.

Got Ryus f+fp > cr.lp > cr.fp > tatsu down consistently too now, that used to be such a hard combo for me. Not 100% execution but not too far from it, I don't really play Ryu though so not a big deal. :D

Edit: Also make sure you aren't sitting in a funny way so that you are hitting the stick upwards by accident or anything, posture does play a pretty big role I think

Yep gg Chris. I too need to go back to the drawing board.
I have to say that Guiles Cr lp, Cr mp is still unforgiving and needs to be frame perfect :(

Was this for my benefit or for Chris or both :) ?

just go for it... my execution screws up all the time online but i dont care, im not gonna dumb it down for no one

Oh dear so one day on and I still feel like a tard with this game. I keep on having to switch to ken to get any good progress in matches but I don't wanna be a ken newb - I think I wanna main guy but was chating to a few peps online in a lobby today and they all said don't bother his timings are a joke...I can see what they mean half his attacks just don't connect (say against sagats tiger uc.. For example)

So who would b worth exploring? Or just stick to guy???

What's wrong with Guys timing?

Not sure what you mean by 'against Sagats tiger uc' do you mean you are trying to combo but are getting hit by an uppercut? That's just a common lag tactic people use online, they mash uppercut hoping you miss your timing.

Tbh I'm learning well with Adon. I could never beat Chris's Ryu no matter how hard I tried, maybe now I have a chance :P. Seriously wanted a faster version of Sagat, and I've got one.

I've just been trying to learn dudley :)

Actually beat a guile earlier ducking under his thonic bewms, starting to get used to dudleys range.
Won 10fights in a row and then played some guy who seemed like he was button mashing as ken and lost as I couldn't get close to him, he just seemed to jump over my head with spin kick all the time :(

Need to change my ps3 settings also as I had some invites ingame but no notification :(

Im also onto adon aswell very fast quiet impressed yet pretty weak. He isnt a projectile but i suppose hes got moves like the jaguar tooth that you can do in return when some one throws a fireball.

P.S- I had a couple of games with the oc lot had a couple of games with chris beans hes got a decent dudley had me of at times good stuff mate hopefully have u some more whenever.

I dont get half of Dudleys moves. Whats that half circle back + K about (kind of a lunge or something).

First Game ever with CAV quiet impressed really struggled was very close game.
Good Stuff mate play you soon il be on in about an hours time anyone going to be on and up for some Endless Battles :P ?

ggs ojste, ibuki is a pain in the backside! She moves around so quick, i'm yet to learn how to block that neck breaking move.

In my defence, that was the first time i had ever played as Guy, i when you messaged me at first i'd started doing his trials. I noticed your message when i got to trial 22 :p. I really like his target combo, really easy to execute and can be linked to so many things (though the linking isn't exactly my strong point yet). I need to figure out a way of getting in close and reliably landing something other than a knockdown attack as i want to use some of his awesome combos.

ggs mate

the neck breaker is blocked low. she is very fast, im sure you can hit me out of the dash as well... i dont think it has any sort of invincibility so prone to jab spam. i'm not a big fan of ibukis pokes, her ground game seems a bit lacking so far but im testing everything i can. she's a beast once she gets in though but i have problems doing so because all her long range pokes dont cancel into anything.
