Its come to the end of the line for my old case; so I thought why not make an entire new build! :D

I thought I would come and ask the wiser people here about their views on the build I am planning & also for your feedback &/or suggestions to change the build.

The primary purpose of the system is for gaming, both online & off. But with upgradable options

Processor: Either
AMD 1090 T OC'd to 4Ghz @ 1.45V or as close to that as is stable
OR
An Intel I7 Chip - not used Intel before so uncertain as to which

Motherboard:
Dependant upon chip, but suggestions?

Memory:
The other point that trips me up - DDR3 Ofc but 16000+ or just 12800+ (using OC's brackets for ease)

GFX:
XFX ATI Radeon HD 5970 Black Edition
OR
XFX ATI Radeon HD 5870 2048MB "Eyefinity 6 Edition"

Hard Drives:
2xSSD's, approx 32GB each, in a RAID 0 Config. - any suggestions for best performance?
1x Seagate Barracuda XT 2TB 6Gb/s

Sound Card:
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer 7.1 - not too fussed over Sound Card, but please recommend better if you think of one

PSU:
Either stick with my current one OCZ GamerXtreme 1010W
Or
New modular PSU - any recommendations?

Case:
Split Between:
Corsair 800D
OR
CM 690
OR
HAF 932
Choice is most likely to depend on cooling (see below)

Cooling:
Either Corsair H50, in which case would get Corsair bundle - if PSU is sufficient, if not purchase separately
Or go full water cooling taking notes of Project Aquacopian - If go for this route (which is a possibility) should I post build in Cases?

As you can all tell I have some serious funds at my disposal - the exact amount if still in "clearing" so in uncertain at this time :S

Thanks

This is what i came up, not 100% sure about which SSD to go with but im guessing the OCZ pair is quite good, and that 2tb HDD is a lot of money Lols. Also not sure if you need a copy of windows.

Yeah I will be needing a copy of windows 7 (thinking ultimate as i hate having restricted options on my OS)

I see you went for the I7, is it better performance than 1090T? or just cheaper?

Yeah the HDD is a lot, I may go for a smaller/slower/cheaper one depends on funds really

Thanks for the help though, am sure will update when I have an exact amount I have to spend :D

Firstly the i7 was better than the 1090T in games by abit so not point paying more and getting less, the 6 cores is nice but it will help in other areas and not gaming.

The HDD is also a lot you could get a WD black 1tb sata 3 for £89.99 and get another if you ever need it and maybe just get 1 SSD.

Finally not sure what restriction your refering to when you talk about windows but get whatever you need dude. IF you find a round figure then I can try keep it to that cost for you.

I'll happily comment on the following choice(s) if you want me to :)

Trust me, it's a well placed grand and a half.

Windows restrictions (?) - http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/compare/default.aspx

Re windows restrictions;

I was quoting some words from my older brother (used to do serious networking/system repair etc) & took his word - never listen to family! :P

looked @Mr Krugga's link & on that basis most probs go Windows 7 Professional as i use a lot of older software as well as newer

Thanks for the heads up with the I7, will go for that then

The Idea with the dual small SSD's was to RAID 0 them and then run them as the pagefile (& maybe windows installation), been an idea been playing around with for a while.

The 2nd HDD is actually the main Hard Drive

I actually like people commenting on things; allows me to fill blanks in my knowledge & correcting my incorrect knowledge/assumptions. If never corrected or informed never learn anything interesting :D

As for price frame thinking between £1,500 & £2,000, but as said waiting on exact amount (which is very frustrating!)

For 1500-2000 you could with either my spec or Mr Krugga. With mine I would recommend u drop the main hard drive down to 1tb and stick in a copy of windows and your good to go.
