Wayyyy more than 30 cars left mate, i was watching them leave single file at the start line for around an hour.

mm wasn't really paying much attention, even me dad thought all of the cars didnt leave

were bouts was you i was right up near the traffic lights on the hill, i got the vid of the scobby revving as it moved up. but seemed to have missed it

I think the Gumball was actually quite interesting in it's early days, especially also when you had the likes of the Jackass crew and others who were filming it all for TV also.

I think now that's its turned 10 years old and it's got so much publicity, it's just turned into a rich owner's club day out (especially if you have a Ferrari). It's nice to see some great cars, but then when you see some of the people that are entering it, the only way I can describe it, is that if this was Top Gear and it was on the 'Cool Wall', it would be in the 'seriously uncool' section.

I was there at Pall Mall very briefly :)

Did anyone else see the token Hyundai amongst the 911's, DB9's and Lambo's? Made me chuckle... :D

As promised I took a load of photos of the Gumball start. I haven't had chance to sort/process them properly but have batch processed and uploaded the lot:

Gumball 3000 Photos

Please don't link the photos anywhere else, my bandwidth is somewhat limited.

They get a big cargo hold plane that they can stuff all the cars onto and fly over

Theres 120 cars, surley they cant get them all onto 1 plane

Been following them on facebook, they have been through germany and had to get 15 transporters to carry the cars as the german authorities wouldent allow them to drive through which seems odd to me. Any other websites where you can follow the gumball ? the official website is dog mess

Odd, I don't think it's that odd...

It's a rally/race on public roads, not a closed course. Of course they aren't meant to speed, but it's still a race and we know full well that they do. Couple that with the fact that two people who had nothing to do with the rally were killed in a collision last year, by a driver who was in so much of a rush that he didn't even stop to check on them... then you can easily see why a country might want to outright ban a race when it endangers the lives of people.

But if any of the cars are Euro Plated with EU drivers, can they actually ban them from entering Germany?
