Talk to me about: The Nissan 200SX (S14/14A)

Stop it

How refined are they on a longer motorway trip?

Like I was saying mate, the stock power delivery is as smooth as a modern day 1.8/2.0T that you will find so it cruises very comfortably whilst returning a respectable 30mpg sat around 70-80mph. However where my stock suspension is most likely fairly diminished by now it does bump a little bit for a long distance cruiser, but by all means it's far from being bad.

If it's something your considering, come down to my workplace in Camberley during the week and we can go for a drive :)

Don't diss the damson!
*shameless pimp*

I know that damson is a popular colour and carries a premium, I also like purple cars myself. However with damson it's far too close to ******* purple for comfort.

Give me a car in Midnight Purple though...

HAHAHAHA how am I gonna ever take it seriously again?!

Really though, get it checked out if it's that shade of purple

It's hard not to agree that Midnight Purple is a much sexier colour though.

I'd have thought enthusiasts would have know the importance of good tyres and not driving their Turbocharged, Rear Wheel Drive cars like idiots in wet, cold weather without the need a patronising 'warning' thread.

Does that include enthusiasts that have only ever driven FWD cars?

My Mate owned one of these for a couple of Months, It was obvious the previous owner didn't really look after the engine as he had some major problems with it ( HG Went, Then the bottom end, £800 and a new engine later the turbo went )

However it was a very nice car to be in, Really Quick too!

I'm comfortable in it. Damson clean looks awesome, but black 14a's look mean. Midnight purple is just gorgeous....

I nearly understand it on your "average" car, but on stuff that is likely to be owned by "enthusiasts" I find it a bit disgraceful. These are typcailly the first people to claim that they Know a thing or two about cars and play around with things like pod Air Filters and boost controllers, but seemingly don't know the very basics of driving their cars?

Sucks, doesnt it?

I keep coming across M5's with random budget tyres on. Thats even more scary!

That's half the problem though! When it's dirty the colour can look quite dull I found.

What exhaust have you got fitted to yours numnutz?

I love my S14a.. I love tinkering and doing bits on it.. Just got to MOT it tomorrow then its back on the road for summer... Its got new suspension/arbs/tc rods to go on as well as a new rad and a few other bits.. Mine is running about 280bhp and its fast enough for me... BTW mine has Racelogic Traction control i love it and its a very good modification for anyone that has never driven a rwd car with decent power. Launch control is great fun.. :)
