9800GX2 to 4870X2 worthy upgrade?

for around 60 quid (after trading in my GX2)?

Although I now only game on my LCD TV which is 1366*768 games like BFBC2 and Metro2033 is starting to strain the GX2 at max details no doubt due to it only sports 512mb vram. Stuttering in MW2 can get quite bad as well if all texture settings are set to extra. But otherwise all other games I play are silky smooth on the GX2.

All 4870X2 reviews I found are dated so just wondering what the performance is like now with the latest 10.4 driver? Also any other problem with the X2 that I should know about?

If it costs you just £60 then it'd be a very worthwhile upgrade.

Definitely worth it!

Just one note:

If you're playing BFBC2, use the 10.4a driver, not the official 10.4 driver - the 10.4a has a fix for the 4**** series cards.

I traded my 9800GX2 that had problems back in the shop for 120 and got a Sapphire 5870

Do you have trading in for a 5850 as an option at all?
It's around as fast as a 4870x2, but cosume much less power and run cooler, and has dx11 support.

Hmmm not 5850 but i did see a couple of 5830s available for the same price though, how does it perform against the x2?
