Made me laugh!

Thats brilliant

How does the driver stop himself getting wet and buffeted by the wind at high speed in the SLR stirling moss? Seems pretty exposed to the elements.
I'll be astonished if that is actually going to be used to complete the entire rally, he doesn't even have a mate with him! I believe sometimes an entrant might use a special toy at the start, swap into something else for the body of the event & then get the toy flown to the finish to complete the rally.

I'm suprised more countries haven't taken the decission to ban the cars from entering as they just flounder the road laws.

How so, with the whole open EU borders?

It may be Europe & very open, but there are still border control points you have to go through and to be fair, it's pretty rare that they even check passports.

That said though, the Gumball entrants have to go through these points, most likely all going through the same one. If a country has decided not to let them pass through, it would be very easy for the Police and Border Control to stop them on entering as there cars are clearly liveried in Gumball markings.

Just posted this in daily encounters, on the way home from work today (on the a127) thought it would be apt to post here :D

pulled onto the A12 into London, had Gumball decaled over it.

Could be Jon Olsson's as he had a roof box fitted to his to carry ski's etc

(Roof box lambo @ 2:33)

Not sure if it still happens, but some of the entrants used to make a lot of their entry fee up with cash paid by sponsors, hence the stickered up cars with all sorts of random stuff on.

That's what I was trying to explain by showing how the event has changed as it's gotten bigger and bigger and made it into mainstream media. It's changed into an event where anyone with a Ferrari and 30k in their pocket can join up, hence it's like an owners day out.
