How fast does your car depreciate?

Cheat, px prices don't count, there's too much clouding the prices, in this case the good px price is a discount on the new car in disguise.

what!!.no cheat at all. but examples at the time forcourt prices were 7-7.5K
so px price was what it was a px price if I was to sell privately I would expect 6.5 to 7K

That seems massively optimistic Lucero?

I thought it was leased anyway so you didnt pay £29k and youve suffered zero depreciation?

This is true, but I'm providing the figures anyway.

Can you find me a MY57 530d M Sport with the same spec with 36k on the clock for less than £24-£25k?

Mine works out at £7.70 per day in depreciation if I use the sales price I paid BMW for it and the price they have on a used 530d with the same age and mileage but slightly lower spec. In reality I couldn't sell it for that so the real figure will be slightly higher.

got a mk2 golf for £500 and resold for £700, so 40% appreciation in about 3 months.

Lost approx £37 a day on the E60 M5 over 18 months. :(

Lost £10k on the skyline in 3 months, but thats because the engine seized, so not really worth as much then is it!

Paid £2.1k a just over a year ago, prices have gone up to around £2500 for a similar example. spent over a £1500 getting it upto scratch tho.

Mines worth Twice what I paid for it now & only the other day I had a lad stop & ask if I wanted to sell it.
Still not worth **** all though. :p

My main car 45k two years ago 30k ish now. So 20 quid a day.

Peugeot 407 and Jag worth what i paid still.

Hasn't depreciated at all, it looks better than when I bought it ( well, aside from a couple of parking ram door into my car moron dents, going to try fixing some of them though), it has longer MOT then when bought ( plus I'd prolly get a new one if selling it), small rusty spot has been fixed on the rear left door, it got new gearstick nylon mounts so it always catches reverse fine now, gets up to temp quicker and stays that ( new thermostat), doesn't smell of smoke any more and some small scratches have been polished out. It probably gained 100-200€ in value since bought.

Sure but your car will be either an MY2007 or an MY2008 - MY stands for Model Year. Can't remember offhand whether the LCI E60 was classified MY07 or MY08, but you get the idea.

Thanks for that, I didn't want to have to start explaining to him what MY means.

:D
