Ok after awhile ive decided im gonna get a desire, i just need some help finding a decent deal. My friend found one that meets everything i need; 300mins, unlimited txt, unlimited net, for £20 after redepemtion and the phone is free, its also 24 months and he found it at e2save. Ive never done a redepmetion deal before so i have no idea what to expect, so if I could find something similiar without the redepemtion i would jump all over it. Im trying to keep it down to £20 a month but Im finding it hard to get a decent offer.

Thanks in advance.

i had a redemption deal a couple years back, its a complete pain in the ass

If you miss any of the redemptions some of the companies refuse any further redemption you have left. They usually make you do it every 3 months, and to make it more of a pain in the ass, you have to get them copies of statements etc.

I personally didnt redeem anything, too much hassle, id get a deal again but i wouldnt factor in any redemption, chances of remembering, and then going through it all to get a poxy cheque which ill have to do several more times throughout my contract, no thanks!

all my opinion of course, others experiences may have been beter :D

In general, normal contracts are more money p/m but are mostly more clear cut in terms of what you get and pay for. Redemption ones are cheaper but you would have to be extra careful with the small print of things that may cost you more than the advertised £20 p/m. A few things that come to mind are any extra things that are optional but have been added to the contract by default and the things you need to send for the redemptions. For the latter point, you would need to be checking the dates in which to send your latest bill and also keep in mind that they would want it only via recorded delivery the cost for which might not be huge but still goes out of your pocket.

So your option is either go for "hassle free" £30p/m or £20p/m but minding the small print. For all those years in which I had various contracts,I still cant say which would be best. The tipping point for most people depends on their experiences with customer service. My experience of having to deal with two different ones(one for the network itself and another for e2save) has been quite bad since they often pass the ball to each other for many issues so I now prefer making contracts directly with networks.

My advice, is stick to Direct sales, with O2, Voda or whoever. People ive seen not doing so, can have major issues with returns and increased monthly billing.

Ok thanks a lot guys, my friend said the same thing. He hasnt been paid in 5 months and its a lot of work, im gonna get the following contract, 300mins, ulimited test and net for £25 a month unless i find something better.

Just to continue with the above..

I had a redemption deal with buymobilephones.net (or something similar) a few years ago and they went "bankrupt" and I lost around £300 as a result - looks like they're back in the game now.

e2save are part of carphonewarehouse so more trustworthy.. but something to consider

Well i thought long about this and asked around, and in general i was told to stay far away, its just a waste of a lot of time and husle and just brings soo much problems. So I think ill just find a decent contract without redemption. Thanks a lot everyone :).

does the same contract that you were looking at have an automatcic cheaque back offer? not sure about e2save but I've seen on mobiles.co.uk(also a cpw affiliate) some times has more than 1 offer on the same contract(e.g. 6 months 1/2 price, £70 auto 'cash back', free ps3), you choose the offer you want from the list then.
