Racist in takeaway last night

I think the OP did the right thing.
Surely the shop owner should have reported it and handed in the CCTV evidence. I mean if they want customers like that they can keep them, I would just go elsewhere for my food.

Im not even going to comment on some of the questionable posts in this thread...

I do agree he should contact the police but he has his reasons not to, and he wants to stand by them.

I have a few black and mixed race mates and I am not racist at all. I do joke about black/mixed race but only the same as I do with ginger, disabled, fat and anyone really. I would never dream of hitting a black person just because they were black

I wasnt scared but was really ****ed off at what was happening. If there wasnt so many similar people in there I would have definately stuck my hand through his face (no, im not a 'keyboard warrior' I believe if someone hits you then you have a right to defend yourself and hit back) Not a great idea as I was by myself though

Rocky IV can you explain all of his options. I mean as you were there it must make simple keyboard warrior sense to you and the rest of us just must be missing something that your not?

Edit: Unfairly it seems as he came out with the sensible option but that does not exactly explain all the hate and ranting.
 
So we can all agree on one thing:

OP's reluctance to take action (even days after the event) will result in the perpetrator being much more likely to repeat his violent/racist behaviour as he has not been issued with a negative consequence for his actions.

Does anyone want to disagree with that?
 
I agree with that, yes.

I also think that he took the best course of action at the given time, standing up for yourself is not the smart thing to do in that situation.

I would personally have reported it to the police immediately, but the OP has his reasons not to, and I wouldn't label him a coward based on that.

I agree with that yes, The reason you're getting the bad attention is your attitude. You were being a *****, and pricks are generally disliked.

I'll agree on one condition. You provide evidence that negative consequences would change such a behaviour and that such a behaviour is more likely because a negative consequence was not applied.
 
I agree with Rocky IV statement about going to the police as I said in my first post. But remember I said this as not knowing what has happened. Other then what the op posted but I wasnt there. I did ask questions but the OP is busy fighting commies lol.

I dont know the OP or the area so cant guess what would happen if he went to the police as its impossible. Mean while as I said in my first post I hope they dont see him on his own again and take him for a walk over repeating what they did and even worse.

Interesting this happened in Leeds. Didn't think it was like that up there.

People here saying you should have reported it... the question is why bother?

My mate (who is a police officer) got punched in the jaw by some idiot on a bus for no reason at all. He was at the back of the bus and I was at the front paying for my ticket, the bloke that punched my mate then quickly legged it out the bus. My mate reported it and I was interviewed/took a statement about the incident.. nothing was done about it.

So if my mate is a police officer and not much gets done then I don't hold out too much hope for Joe Public.

no its not.. i was talking overall.. police is useless in situations like these.. all you can do is get more mates and beat the shiz out of them...

my mum got beaten up by 2 youths in park and police was called 5 mins after the accident and nothing was done.. oh oh.. wait we got a crime number.. so useful.. protected her very much. :rolleyes:

put it this way.. i don't do shiz and i keep it to my self.. but police loves.. just loves to check me for "drugs" like i look some kind of a drug dealer? then again come in park where a guys clearly looking like a drug dealers walk past and police don't even look at them? much use from them aye? :rolleyes:

police does nothing.. so why would anyone care? beat up.. steal.. rob houses etc.. you won't get cough 99% of the time.. why bother working? this country is messed up.. some youths can't be controlled... insurance is your only hope lol...

parks like Green Park/Hyde Park is central London are FILLED with police.... yet those are the most quite places in London... tourists only.. while parks around my house are full of trouble causing CHAVS who do what ever the poo they want and no one will come not even patrol around the parks... so where's the so needed police? oh.. eating donuts at Green Park.. :o <----RANT
