The 2010 Airshow season has kicked off at last, with a fine display of varied aircraft at Abingdon. In fine British tradition, the weather was less than ideal with stiff winds and flat, gray skies, but its all good practice.
We kick off with an interesting sounding T-28 Fennec, who received a bit of a reminder over the radio about the minimum display height mid-display
followed by what must be a contender for the worlds most difficult to photograph jet, the black Hunter.
A DC-3 gave a great showing, a proper veteran workhorse of the skies.
Tom (the 2010 display pilot) gave the Hawk a great workout, including what must have been an eyeball popping negative-G roll:
The RAF Tucano is painted up in the Battle Of Britain colour scheme this year, and mighty impressive it looks.
The wonderful Vampire managed to catch the little bit of sun through the clouds
followed by a lumbering VC-10
and a C-17
Finally the grand finale, and quite a coup for Abingdon. The Dutch F16! What a display:
