morning all, im in need of 3-5 120mm fans to go on my case and heatsink and it seems im down to these two choices.... noctua or apache.
as both fans are as good as silent @ max speed id want them running at max all the time so im concerned about the apache being a PWM fan, can i use it flat out all the time or will it only spin fast as temps rise?
i already have 2 noctua's so would only need 3 more however if general consensus is that apache's are better i need 5.
5 apache's is only ~£17 more than 3 noctuas so cost isnt an issue..... so which is best?

The Apache is a PWM fan, if you plug it into a PWM header with PWN enabled it will act as a PWM fan.

If you want it on full blast, either disable PWM in bios in that's possible or plug it into a non PWM 3 pin header.

I'm not sure which is louder on full as I don't have the Noctua, but I'd imagine the Noctua would be slightly quieter on full, whilst the Apache would shift more air. Neither would be silent on full.

I don't see the point of not having a non-PWM fan on your CPU though - after all temperature and resulting fan speed requirement is variable depending on load. So unless you're gonna run the CPU @ 100% load 100% of the time, why have the fan blow at 100% 100% all of the time.

I'd get an Apache and try it out compared with the noctuas - if you don't like it - ebay it.

ok ta for that, reason for max airflow is becasue of gfx idle temps... there gonna be getting even hotter soon with the summer
