Asus rampage III Extreme

great work and hopefully soon :)
simulatorman i even emailed pinto asking him but no reply, am sure hell come back :D pob enjoying his board

i wonder if some1 can answer a question for me >.>

i read the manual and i have a hard time figuring out something.

now in my case i have 8 fans

my cpu cooler has 2 seprate fans(as in 2 noctua fans so two separate pins)

my airflowram cooler fan.

i see only 8 fan sockets on the board, so will i be able to connect 11 fans ?

if yes any1 can assist me what goes where?

for example cpu cooler slot is single but i have 2 cpu cooler fans >.> and so on. would appreciate any help

Well you would only connect the fans that you want to monitor on the board and the rest get connected to the Molex Power Connectors.
Thats what I always done for the last several years.

As for the 2nd CPU Cooler Fan, couldn't you just connect it to one of the AUX Fan connectors unless it needs to control the speed of the fan when it gets hot?

p.s I havent read the manual as yet so I am not too sure on the connectors so don't shoot me :p

ah yes :P that would make sense probable do that >.> ty for ur reply :), i just wish pinto check the forum soon so we can get some feedback

i still my concern about it not being able to support 6gb ram of the 2000mhz corsair dominators >.> if you look at page 2-17 of the manual, the first one on the list says up to 4gb, what i think they are saying is if you want 2000 mhz on those rams using XMP profile ud better use only 4gb in dual channel , sad :(:(:(

but like mentioned earlier there should be bios updates for this sort of thing :S

There's absolutely no need to worry about your RAM. The qualified vendor lists are not definitive; it's just a list of products that ASUS have tested and guarantee will work the R3E. It's not saying other products won't work, it's just making you aware of the products that definitely will.

Sure just look at the QVL's in the appendix at the back of the manual. Take the power supply list for instance. For the Corsair PSU's, only the HX620 and the HX1000 are listed. Is that saying that the HX750 and HX850 won't work? No, of course not, it's just telling you that they've tested these particular models and will guarantee they work. The mobile phone list for RC Bluetooth only has 4 models listed - hundreds more phones will work, they just haven't been tested by ASUS to "qualify".

So no need to worry. My specific RAM isn't listed either (6GB G.Skill Ripjaws 2000MHz) but I know it will work. ;)

As far as I know the x58 Chipset can only use upto 4GB Sticks so if you have 3*2GB sticks = 6GB your fine.
Even if you have 3*4GB sticks= 12GB your fine.
Just means that if you have say 6*4GB sticks = 24GB (Max Mem Size)

However if you have 3*6GB sticks (if they exist) = 18GB they would either fail or you will only be able to read upto 4GB of each stick giving you a total of 12GB.

I think that what they mean, but don't quote me on that.

Thought we were going to get an confirmation on this board today, im sick off waiting, this is only thing i need to finish my rig. have my 980x, 3 x evga 480 sc, 2 x Crucial RealSSD C300 256GB, 6 gb of corsair dominator gt 2000mhz c7, all watercooled whit koolance. come on please give me my board now.

After three days of test i can say that board is awesome! Don't forget to check voltage only with a multimeter, cpu-z and everest are totally wrong because they shown vdrop on vcore instead of totally linearity with multimeter.
Rog connect feature works great and i can see 58a full load with my 980X at 4.5ghz! Finnaly the board is a performer because it can equal classified performance with less uncore speed and less voltage!
Absolutly no problem to run 2ghz C7 with my GT, put the the dominator fan is jsut plug and play
