My headphone stand currently consists of a bit of 3-ply approx. 1inch by 8 inches ... this goes under the LCD TV stand at one end sticks out over the side of the unit the TV is on (in a direction where it cannot be knocked) at the other.

The headphones are just hung off it :)

Total cost .... £0 (the bit of wood was an off-cut included in the packaging of some flat-pack furniture at some point).

I don't know why you want a severed head in your room.... They look odd.

I like the sennheister desk mountable ones the best

Because it's not a severed head :p.

I need a headphone stand...any recommendations as to ones that can just be bought? The DIY ones don't look that great, as demonstrated above *ducks* and since my DIY skills are lacking in this area, making my own would not be wise.

my sister had a smoked glass version of that head and it looked amazing, cant find them anywhere now.

Like this? Or more smoked?

Mine just hang off picture hooks on the wall. Does the job perfectly. I'll post pics up later when I've got time.

I was going to make a stand, but they'll take up too much desk space, and the picture hooks do a fine job (plus the hooks were already there, so all I had to do was bend them a bit :p). The 580s at the top are my favourite cans. I like the 701s, but I need a good few hours to get re-used to them after having a break and using the Senns.
