Google - what have they done to their logo?

google are tryling their new 'modern' look on random visitors. i had google like that about 2 weeks ago and it lasted about 3 days. the search buttons are also a nicer modern look, just like they did with the text that didn't appear until you moved your mouse

i like it very much and hope they change, however i use igoogle so don't see it nor those cool special event images :(
 
I literally googled something a couple of minutes ago and went WTF as that page came up. Really not sure I like it, it seems designed for the blind amongst us...
 
Never understand why people care about this sort of thing .... it's just logo, for google. As long as it looks roughly like google, so that I can identify it as being google what's the problem? OMG nos they've removed the drop shadow, how will I ever manage to cope with searching the internet again!!!?

exactly. people like to moan to other people a lot. i doubt google have changed the logo for the sake of changing it, they've most probably had some very experienced people look into improving how it works and will work in future, maybe as smoeone has said it's better for people that are partially blind, or even maybe better when very small etc.
 
Has anyone ever found Bing to be better at anything?

I know their shopping has 10% cash back, must be using that so people use Bing to shop over google shopping. Worked with me... well, I checked with google then to Bing to see if it was discounted. :)

I actually really like their image search results, one fluid page of images.

I don't mind the colourful look :)
They pretty much change their logos most day. If it bothers you then why not just get an igoogle account as your default google page?

I preferred it when it was a surprise that there was a Google holiday logo. They only used to come up several times each year. Now they come up very regularly :(

Same thing happened when they experimented by removing "I'm feeling lucky".

Users moaned that it looked too plain, when only a small minority ever used the functionality.
