Arrrrgggghhhhhh, going crazy right now.

There is a really really loud alarm going off, think it's from the Weatherspoons just across the road.

It's been going off randomly for a few seconds the passed few days, but it hasn't stopped for nearly 45 minutes now. Would have thought some one would have been around to turn it off by now.

Can anything be done? For example would the Police do anything about it?

I fancy getting some sleep tonight!

You need to report these incidents to your local council. The police aren't interesting in alarms going off any more. The council will log the incident and contact your local Wetherspoons. Councils under the Environmental Health section have responsibility for these type of events.

Hope it stops for you soon and you get some sleep.

Some councils have a 24hr hotline. They can legally break in and switch it off if the owner's can't be raised.

I doubt the police would care - but you could try the non-emergency number?

Thanks for the help guys, just rang up Aber Police Station on the non-emergency 101 number and they said it is the Weatherspoons and they are 'dealing with it and hopefully it won't go on for much longer'.

How hard can it be to contact the owners / security company to turn it off.

Get some ear plugs, or just get some toilet tissue, fold it up and stick it in your ears. It'll most likely fall out during the night if you have your alarm set for the morning.

Aye, is it still true that the alarm can only sound for a maximum of 20 minutes?
