Hi all,

Im currently running Goodyear eagle F1 GSD3 all round. Had them for around 12k now and the fronts are down to around 3mm (backs still about 7mm) so the fronts need replacing really. Ive been looking around at different reviews. Now I can get the GSD3's and Asymmetric for around the same price (little bit more for the asymmetric). Now im currently buying a house so money is a bit of a problem to say the least.

Ive been looking at the falken FK452's they seem really good for the money, but I dont want to be disappointed going from the GSD3's as they are awesome in both wet and dry.

Going from these reviews the FK452's seem to be better than the GSD3's so im getting swayed towards them:

Any advice would be great thanks :)

I've got a couple of 452's on the back of my Octy vRS.
Can't complain - they do their job well and are nicely priced.

ive had a few sets of kumho's ku31 now. they really are not far behind eagle f1 performance. its one of those tyres where you dont have to adjust your driving when it gets wet, theyre that good

Can anyone compare the 452's to the GSD3's?

How well do the 452's wear and perform in the wet?

I found the GSD3's to grip better than the Falkens, the Falkens didnt seem to last all that long, I can't comment on the GSD3 wear, though after several thousand miles they are still going strong on my old Saab.

I'm getting tempted by the 452s now from your advice and the reviews online. Now I know the GSD3s and the asymmetrics out perform the 452s from what I had read, am I likely to think "what have I bought" if I buy the 452s after using the GSD3s
? I don't want to go into a roundabout in the wet and end up not coming out the otherside being used to the GSD3s and the 452s be so different and me being disappointed :(

EDIT: I also read somewere the 452s have a softer sidewall? Any experience of this?

My KU31s have made me totally happy - I don't have much car experience having only passed very late last year, but these are what I've got on my pug currently and they've not made much fuss or really given out yet, what grip they've relinquished they've given me plenty of warning about - it's been a slow and predictable loss of grip and not much at all.

I've driven a couple of other cars, mine and other people's, and these have felt the best thus far, have made me feel confident that they're not going to let go without warning.

Ive got Dunlop FastResponse all round on my 1.6 Focus and cant complain at all, wet or dry they grip fine, and I have a pretty heavy right foot.
