Go to the marketplace on the device and download/install ASTRO file manager...its free.

USB mode is enabled by connecting the phone then swiping down on the top of the screen, should bring up a list of options so choose from there.

Apps run in the background until Android needs the ram, it will then shut down any apps if it needs more ram...most apps i have on my Desire dont have a shut down feature but its no big deal as the Desire is more than capable of running 6 apps pretty damn easily.

HTC Synch app is just an app to synch your contacts and calendar entries...sorry i dont use it so cant be of any help there.

easiest way is to use a googlemail account. Go to gmail on the PC, you can import CSV contacts, and the android can download these easily.

i cannot seem to make an android market google account, after the terms and condition it says error i'm getting so frustrated. usb mode not working, should i format the sd card? the phone is new got it today

settings > connect to a pc, tick the 'ask me' box. Connect the cable and it should pop up on the screen asking you what mode to use.

tried it, guys i own a n900 so i know how to do these things but its not working, creating a google account always says error, restarted handset and trying again, took memory card out and put it in so will try again, thanks

Stop getting frustrated so easily, Androids require gentle touches not frustrated ones!

cheers had a check on that installed handcent sms app, pretty cool but how do i stop notification from the stock app on the top status bar?

also is there codec for media player to support other formats?

chers

You can't move apps to the memory card unless you're running a baked custom ROM with Apps2SD. Unless you've installed 82382323990923 apps, I can't see how you're running out of internal memory.

Apps don't install on the memory card, official app to do that is coming out soon I do believe. Unless you root and install App2SD, and you should't be getting that error at all.

Just go into settings of Handcent SMS to change the notification settings.

Oh and chill out.

i got low memory message, i thought apps installed memory card? how do i move them to memory card?

cheers

Simply put you cant...well not till the next update where hopefully they are including support for apps2sd...only way you can do it is via rooting but i wouldnt really suggest doing that as it will void your warranty and could end up bricking your device...plus the rooting method for the Desire hasnt been perfected yet.

Delete some apps that you dont use or delete the ones taking up the most space....you can either do this via marketplace or through settings and scrolling to applications.

I have over 20 apps on my Desire and i still have over 50mb free...
