I know I'll regret this......Mondeo advice!

There's nothing inherently wrong with the clutch or starter motor - they'll only go wrong if your DMF fails and you dont bother fixing it...

Arnold Clark Ford Kilmarnock are a bunch of incompetent morons!

Saw car on website on sunday, called on monday to enquire. Still available and I arrange to view on saturday.

Get to work Monday and find my shifts in a mess. End up with wednesday (today) off. Called again on tuesday and explained how I was off sooner than expected and arranged to view the car today.

The salesman told me he would phone and leave a message should the car be sold by then.

Arrive today and speak to the salesman I was told would be dealing with me as my original contact was on holiday. He goes off to find the keys and the car (big used lot) but returns shortly to tell me that the car was sold! :(


On Saturday! WTF!?

I'd take that as an omen of what you will experience in dealing with Arnie.. hunt elsewhere.

I test drove a Mondy a few years back at one of their franchises.... the salesman knew next to **** all about the car and, in his view, the main selling point of the mk3 Mondeo was that ' its basically a passat, but with a Ford badge'.

Cant comment on the place but it looks like a tidy car - the Zetec-S is pretty rare and a nice looking car. My last car was a 2004 Zetec-S TDCI and it was really good :)

The price is good considering the mileage - you dont see many black ones either
 
Well that's my concerns about price at least quieted for now :)

Having a dig through Eastern Western website and I certainly know of some of the franchises they own....maybe worth a look after all :)
 
Looks good, check the bottom of all the doors for rust. Make sure the seals are all present and correct, I would also check the carpets for any sign of water.

Rear sub frame bushes are also a common failure, a metallic knocking noise when going over bumps is an indicator that these are on their way out.

Just had a callback from the place. It's dumping ground for the low priced trade ins that they don't want to put on sale next to their Saab's/Mercs/Lexus and other posh brands :)

Off to have a look on Sunday.....if it's still there :)
