I was going to put this in the motorsport part of the forum but since I hardly ever look in there I guessed others might be the same so it's here in the main bit of motors.

That aside, who else is going to Lemans this year?

I'm booked up from Thursday to Monday and camping down in Dairon instead of my usual Tertre Rouge. I'll be easier to spot this year because I'm going down with my dad in his hotrod woohoo :D

Really looking forward to it and there's a very cool entry list this year :)

I need to finally go one of these years, but just can't find the effort to do it as yet :/

Reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally want to go again but im not sure funds will permit this year :(

Coming out of a very expensive month.

Very worth it if you are into ****ing about with exotica. I need to get myself something decent to go down in this year as ive just sold what i was going to take.

Heh, good job I'd have no-one to take with me as I'd struggle since I have a 2 seater with virtually no luggage room now

But it's just a matter of me willing to spend the money, get all the stuff and then drive all the way to France for it :/

I wouldn't go on your own really, the event is about setting up a camp, having barbecues with tons of super-U random french meats, drinking, and messing around looking at and abusing exotic cars.

When I do go I'd probably go via the PH organised thing, staying in the PH camp area etc

I was supposed to be there for a week working for Jaguar but the contract got cancelled :( :( Was going to be awesome, free French farm house with pool nearby to stay in too, damn it!

going this year on Houx again as usual. Was going to take the S2000 but now talking the beater volvo, so that A) we can fit everything in and B) so my S2k doesnt get beer / **** / water squirted into it at every oppourtunity with the roof down.

I love le mans, but i have to say, if i had anything worthwhile nowadays, it would stay away from le mans, because there seems to be a lot of very boozed up people spoiling it. Last year I saw doors opened, people trying to crawl into the luggage holds of coaches going past, car windows being punched and banged, and the usual squirting of anyone or anything! Its a shame, its ruining le mans.

Ive also opted to go to the classic as well this year, which i will be taking the S2000 too :)

Yeah I do agree here. I all up for a good laugh with the lads but some people do seem to take it too far. Like when I went last year and some idiot in a TVR decided he would look uber cool doing an impromptu doughnut in a very crowded road. How everyone managed to get out the way I will never know as he just missed me by 2 feet.

Yeah there is a lot of that going on especially along the road which leads to the Techno Park.

We camped there last year on some grass next to a building a friend does work for. Private area well out of the way and fairly quiet so we could get a few hours sleep. We went for a meal Sunday night, came back around 10pm and found our tent had been stolen. Luckily all the valuable stuff was in the car. They had taken everything inclduing the tent pegs! The odd thing is you couldn't see the tent from the road as it was behind a building. We ended up coming back that night and having a crash just before the ferry port. Nothnig serious but after getting the 5am ferry and being up for the best past of 3 days driving up from Dover at 50MPH wasn't nice!

You're usually with the Beer Mountain guys over in Maison Blanche aren't you?

I will be with mates in a Gîte but I will be drinking and may pass by. I prefer to avoid the debauchery, too old for all that these days, though shall destroy some beers during the 24 hours.

This is the event to go to, much more me, but I need a blow out and mate has asked me 3 years in a row to go and I've said nah, not my thing these days. Last time was 1990....

Right, I'm packed. Well I have my passport, ticket holder and a torch on the bed, anyway :D
