Everywhere seems to sell de-ionized but not distilled!

how do other people get hold of it? order it online? i see feser one is recommended as well, but some say distilled is slightly conductive while others say it isn't.

so where do people here get their water from? :p i'd rather just get 5l in or something if it's gonna be a pain to find.

It's pretty difficult to find it on the high street but it's pretty easy to find it on the interweb.

Dentist's etc use bucket fulls of the stuff if you need a clue as to what to search for....

Would put a link in but probably breaks rules as oc sell coolant, but I can find stuff at 8.50 for 5 litres.

The real problem is that distilled or de-ionised water becomes "contaminated" within about 15 minutes after the purification is completed.. either from the container it's stored in or the co2 from the air (which makes the water slightly ionic) .

Get 5 litres of Deionised water from halfords, Few drops of PT nuke and/or Silver coil and you're fine.

i have PT phn nuke, but reading around that deionized water will corrode your stuff faster. I changed from normal pt nuke to phn because its supposed to be better with distilled water  which now looks hard to get but may order it online.

Send me a bottle and I'll happily send it back full with UHP (18.2 mega ohm) water, as we have a in line unit here at work ;)

I've never had any problems with deionised and pt nuke. May be just lucky, May not.

The only difference between deionised water and distilled is that distilled comes without bacteria, the pt nuke sorts that out in the deionised.

Goto a local A marine fish shop and ask for RO water.. it's pure water nothing in it at all...
I have a RO unit you can get them from RO-Man pretty cheap.

Key RO = Reverse osmosis.

I use deionzed with Pt nuke, no probs here,i know of people who use regular tap water and have no problems, but i would not recommend it myself, the only water i avoid is the ones with dyes in as they contain glycol which has been proven to deteriorate blocks over time

I used Halfords De-ionised Water (used in car batteries) with the Swiftech green additive and it worked fine. Also Hornby sell distilled water in 5l (I think) which is used for their model railway engines to produce the steam so check model shops too. Although from my last water cooling build I bought the Feser stuff OC used to sell and it was fine.
