Channel 4's Alternative Election Night

David Mitchell, Jimmy Carr and Lauren Laverne present irreverent coverage of the General Election results, featuring contributions from Charlie Brooker and an audience made up of comedy enthusiasts of varying political persuasions. As the night unfolds, pundits and an in-studio bookmaker give a no-nonsense analysis of the developments and offer their predictions.

Specially recorded programmes will be shown throughout the evening, including You Have Been Watching, Fonejacker and Come Dine with Me Election Special, featuring Edwina Currie, Brian Paddick, Derek Hatton and Rod Liddle.

Anyone else really excited about this tonight?

4 hours of a comedy take on the general election, has potential, i'll certainly be watching.

Channel 4 9:00pm-1:00am (4 hours ) Thu 6 May

Big fan of David Mitchell, so will keep an eye on this. Will have to flick between Sky News and this over the course of the night so that I can keep up with the happenings.

It will be something to flick over to when the going gets heavy with the election programming.

I'll be watching this alone rather than anything BBC/Sky. I can't do anything to influence the outcome of the Lib Dem/Labour/Tory tussle, so I'd rather be entertained and read the analysis tomorrow.

It's been a bit naff so far, switched over to outnumbered. Hopefully it'll pick up once the polls close and they can start ripping the **** out of people.

i was enjoying this but then turned over to find the bbc loads more hilarious. drunk politicians on live tv. cant be beaten

Mitchell and Carr are definately a good match. Loved it, just a shame they had to intersperse it with that **** that is come dine with me and fonejacker... :(

The "Come Dine With Me" was the WORST episode I've ever seen, and I absolutely love that show.

The "Fonejacker" stuff was just OK.

Best thing about it was Charlie Brooker and some of the random quips made by people throughout, but overall I don't think it was worth sticking with.
