ok i just built my first computer and it wont find my master drive and it also keeps saying insert formated floppy disk can any1 help

In the Bios, set the first boot device to your master drive

Also, What motherboard is it?

Does the hard drive spin up when the pc starts, and double check the cable from the drive to the board.

Does this have a operating system already on the drive.

yea it spins and no it doesnt have an operating system on it

Are you using Sata drive with Win XP by any chance

yea its a sata drive but no operating system has been installed

Try and start to install the operating system, set one of you dvd/cd drives as a boot drive, load your windows disc, save and reboot. Hopefully this should boot from the windows install disc.

I think you can, but I have never tried.

That's the IDE channel which is not showing any drives.

Your HD is being shown on SATA 1 & DVD drive on 2.

You got the error message because your HD contains no operating system.

Try resetting the BIOS, may sort it

Are you using any IDE drives, one with the large ribbon cable.
