Holiday to Jamaica

Booking my holiday to jamaica today for 2 weeks from august 31st. Anybody been? is it any good? Ive heard a lot about the gangs out there and apparantly if you leave the resort you should pay money for security or something silly like that, is that true?

any advice, reviews etc appreciated

Jamaica is great, the food is especially awesome.

Like any poorer country, keep your wits about you, be smart and you'll be fine. Tourists in Jamaica very rarely have any problems.

Jamaica is nice! Obviously it has rough parts but where don't, you'll be fine!

Defo if you get chance go on the 9 Mile tour to Bob Marleys town and house etc, I'm not a fan of him or his music but it's defo something to see.
