Unless you are getting the Phenom II X4 965BE for under £140 I would get a Phenom II X4 955BE. TBH, since both CPUs have an unlocked multiplier and both have the same C3 stepping now they should reach around the same speed when overclocked.

I would have a look at the Asus M4A89GTD PRO or Asus M4A89GTD PRO/USB3. Both are based on the 890GX chipset, do symmetrical Crossfire at PCI-E 2.0 8X/8X and have SATA 3.0 although the latter motherboard also has USB 3.0 too. Again this depends on what budget you have.

The Antec TruePower New Modular 650W or 750W PSUs are also worth looking at too. They are both made by Seasonic. The Seasonic X650 and X750 PSUs are also considered to be fantastic PSUs.

TBH, a 650W PSU would be OTT for a pair of HD5770 1GB cards and a Phenom II X4 processor.

Even a decent 800W PSU would power a pair of HD5970 1GB cards and an overclocked Core i7 920:

The reason i chose the 965 processor is because ive seen if going for £136 for the 125w version and had read it was slightly better at overclocking than the 955, not sure how accurate that is. I was concerned the the motherboard might have been a weak link in the chain but reviews of more expensive boards were very varied. the Asus M4A89GTD PRO was my original choice but i wasnt sure if there would be noticeably better performance for the extra cost (£30 more expensive). I will change the power supply to a lower wattage, i orignally selected 850w because i used a psu calculator and it said that my system would need 790w

The X4 965 is a bit cheaper for the rest of the weekend. The Asus M4A89GTD PRO is also around £10 more than the Asus M4A79XTD EVO.

Regarding the PSU, I had an overclocked i7 and 5870 crossfire running fine from a Corsair 750W supply no problems, so I'm sure you'd get away with a 650W for 5770 crossfire.
