Walk of death, would you do it?

Does anyone esle ever feel the urge to throw themselves off of high things. Eg I was walking over the Forth Road Bridge about a year ago and felt reallt tempted to take a run and leap over the barrier. The same goes for the railing on the 3rd floor hallway at my work. It's not a suicidal feeling at all, just a 'go for it' feeling.

Why though, I hate/love this feeling.

Anytime high up, it gives the shivers to look down but at the same time I want to jump!

I'm pretty sure this is one of the most common reasons for a fear of heights. You have that little voice in the back of your head saying "I'll be fine as long as I don't hurl myself off the edge like a madman. But what if I did?"

Yes, but i'd have to use a harness at a couple of points, ironically at the bits that don't have wire next to it... :p

It looks similar to the Ria Firata (sp) in the Dolomites which I really want to do as well.

Spain is full of stuff like this however. They rarely re build things like we do in the UK (which is usually a good thing) and just stick a sign/easy barrier across the entrances. :p

I'd give it a go!

The holey paths are a little un-nerving and I think I would spend a little more time than he did working out where the metal supports were.

About that 'jumping off high things' point, I agree... always look over the edge and think 'what if?' I admire BASE jumpers for doing it though, some of them are plain crazy just running and jumping; must be an awesome feeling!
