Tory Majority in the UK?

I think we should remove Wales and Scotland from the election, I would rather it was a parliment just for England and not the United Kingdom. I mean Scotland is such a long way from London, it would save money so there would be less MP's and less traveling to do.

Can't the Scotish and Welsh just stick with their own political parties?

it isn't based on anything, hence why I said I was under the impression

basically I thought it was down to the Thatcher years and her break up of some industry , poll tax , etc

Some people in Scotland will almost certainly never vote Conservative for those reasons but then again quite a number of people in England (plus Northern Ireland or Wales for that matter) will refuse to vote Conservative based on the Thatcher years too.

If you want it to be a parliament just for England then there needs to be a seperate parliament created for that purpose - since at the moment Westminster has UK wide authority then to discount all nations other than England would be a gross injustice.

Well, no, because whoever is elected in Westminster decides policies etc for the rest of the UK, not just England.

If there was full independance then yes but there aint and there wont be IMHO.

Wales doesn't have its own and Scotland's only has limited powers. Seriously you've got an internet connection yet come across as massively ignorant. The whole premise of the thread is rather retarded, you really should go and do some reading.

If you were to complain about Scottish MPs voting on issues which only affect England then you might have a point...

No not really. Why should Scotland and Wales have devolution - their own health, environment, tourism etc etc polices - advantages of being independent - but stay apart of the UK?

Both should be given a referendum, if they want to stay apart of the UK then devolution should be removed and alls good. If they want independence then that's also fine and dandy. Not both.

I realise that Scotland's devolution is more advanced then Wales but the same principle applies. Your either in or out.

You should stop before you embarrass yourself any further. I'm cringing as I read your posts. Maybe you could educate yourself on how the Scottish system actually works? :)

How have I embarrassed myself? The simple fact is that what I posted was right - some Scottish forum members don't like the truth and have foolishly decided to cross swords. I stand by what I said - Scotland needs to decide what it wants - it cannot carry on as it is wanting more and more devolved powers but still expecting England to pay.

I make no apologies for the blunt way I express myself - I'm not here to soothe peoples feelings.

The further north you go the less Tories there are.

Someone posted this on another forum. A new Country that doesn't involve the South of England. I think it's a great idea.

Might want to redraw your map - your being far too generous.

Oh and by the way, no one in Northern Ireland votes Labour.

United Kingdom is that, just because they have assembles doesn't mean their votes don't count! It will always be a central power with Wales, Scotland & Northern Ireland having certain local powers. It makes it easier that way I suppose.

Anyway all these tory boys are ruining this forum! Pipe down you grey looking plebs!!

PS: Don't google image the words: Tory Boy .....mistake :(

If we exclude the results from Scotland and Wales from this general election, the result is a Conservative Majority parliament for England.

Given that Wales and Scotland now have their own parliament, is it not time people from these countries had votes excluded from a general election? Were it not for people in Wales and Scotland propping up the Labour seats, we wouldnt be facing a period of uncertainty at all - we'd have a strong Conservative government.

Why is our parliament full of Welsh and Scottish MP's if they have a parliament of their own?

I got a better idea..

Stick the 10,706,647 that voted tory on a island that will leave plenty of jobs and homes for the rest of us ;)

Then you tory boys can moan all you want to each other. But I bet you will blame every one else if you have problems :D
