Hi, the 0-100 time independantly tested by evo for my car is 15.7 seconds yet yesterday I did a 1/4 mile in 14.6 @ 100mph. I assume the beams for measuring terminal speed is after the timing beam so the the 100mph would have been measured very slightly after the 14.6 was taken.

What would be a more accurate time, the 1/4 mile or the evo vbox?

Either way im impressed by a 14.6, wish I has taken my car on the 1/4 mile when it was mapped. Oh well :)

i wont say it was very accurate. youre highly unlikely to beat EVO (hugely experienced drivers driving cars that dont belong to them) and you were on a concrete strip.

timing gear at these events are notoriously dodgy

take it with a pinch of salt unless youre at santa pod IMO

If you were there you may have seen me? I was in a silver astra Vxr and I had a couple of mates with me, one in a turbo'd black mk1 mx5 and another in a megane 225.

Kind of what I thought, I was pretty supprised by the time. Although it was quite cold yesterday.

My friend in his megane 225 was running mid 15s im not too sure what is reasonable for a stock 225? The mx5 just spun it wheels...lots.

What was your brother driving/riding? There were some very fast motors there yesterday, noteably a blue anglia which run a low 10 and I think there was a bike that did a 7 second

Yeah it wasn't bad, just a shame the timing gear broke on the right lane. Still it ment a lesser que if you just wanted an untimed blast up the strip against something else.

If you got there late I guess you missed the Subaru blow it's bonnet off whist in the que, god knows how he managed it! It blew a metal boost pipe off which bent all the bonet up with a seriously loud bang and bits of bonnet vent flying in all directions!

Depends how evo measured it

if they measured it as a one off "real world average" or went hammering it all morning trying to get the best time.

If its the former, its entirely belivable you managed to go a second quicker to 100 if the weather conditions were more favourable than wheen they did it.
