What? Gladiator came out over 10 years ago?

Oh gawds, I remember chatting to my date about how awsome it would be that theres going to be a LOTR film at all. The cartoon version still being a fresh horror in my mind. And we'd check out magazines for a few pictures or sneak peaks about it. This was a couple of years before it was even released!
 
The thing that gets me the most is when I think about what I was doing when I was 18. Then I see kids who are 18 now and I realise they were 8, when I was out on the ****, meeting women etc, especially when I see girls who are 18 and think wow!!, then I think about them being 8 and feel old, and pervy.

God I feel bad being surprised people born after 2000 can be up in school and articulate in conversation lol.
 
On the plus side, the weeks fly by so quickly if feels like weekends come round much quicker than they used to.

The thing that got me was a conversation with a friend who is training to become a secondary school teacher. Just taking the DOBs of his students and comparing them to events in our lives - eg some of his students being younger than half life :eek:
 
I've had a few of these moments of late. :p

Incidently, I remember actually going to a shop to buy the DVD with my brother for my dad's birthday.

Doesn't that mean films like South Park the Movie and that silly super-shark film that came out around the same time are the same age now? Wow.

I was at some club the other day and I felt old because the sound and lighting system were really annoying me.

Likewise, I went to a gig for the first time in a while last week and come the encore I just wanted to leave as my lower-back was hurting so much from standing still. Also, I had no interest in rushing to the front and jumping around which I used to love doing about 6-7 years ago. Finally, the thing that hit me was my old flatmate saying he's going to be 26 this year. I still remember his 21st like it was last month! Where is the time going?
 
I'm hitting the big four-oh this year and still don't feel old.
Possibly one of the benefits of my wife being ten years younger than me :D

See, a wife being 10 years younger than me would make her 14. That's just not cricket.

What, LoTR is 9 years now?! ****ing heck!
