well after buying a new system few months back i built it all and went to install my xfi gamer sound card. now.. normally would just use installation disk but because my kids have decided to scratch it like jam master jay it is ruined and wont load :(

so i go to the creative site dl the latest drivers but although the card works fine i cant get the sound right.its not like before its too harsh.over clinical :( it wasnt like this before with the original drivers off the actual instalation disk.

ive emailed creative and i wont be buying from them again as there about as helpful as a bag of sand

this is fourth email i sent them . previous said to them everytime i dont want the latest driver on there site as that is what causes the harshness.

so like all the other emails not even read and just keep linking me to the newest one

does anyone have an original driver from the instalation disk for a xfi gamer please ? or know which driver version it is . ive tried everywhere to get it and it is annoying with onboard sound especially when you know the card is fine :( any help mucho appreciated thanks.

Right, to me that sounds less liek drivers and more like the abomination known as Xfi - xrystaliser. Go inot the soundcard menus and turn off the crystaliser. I'm sure that will do it.

Have you changed OS, since your new build?

Whilst looking into issues with Creative's older cards, I came across a few threads where people say, with Vista/7 that their X-Fi doesn't sound right. It was fine with XP, but the sound was wrong when moving to Vista/7. Seems a few threads that came to a conclusion, installing modified drivers helped to fix the poor sound issues. I don't think that's a guaranteed fix for everyone though.

used to use that fine and it sounded crystal clear now its so clear it hurts your ears seem my video on http://www.youtube.com/user/DGeeeeeee#p/u/42/wNP_9u23eZ4 you can hear what i mean :(

it was a fresh install and still same op system

Have you installed the “Creative Console Launcher”? I had trouble finding this on the website for some reason when I went to W7 64bit.

Once installed go to “Entertainment Mode” and switch everything off that you can find in the options that can affect sound quality. All of them options just seem to make it sound horrible. This worked for me.
