hi all just wandering if anyone has got there 930 to 4.5, with the gigabyte x58ud3r motherboard, as i was wandering what settings you used cos i want to go higher than 4.0, my idle temps are currently at 28,28,23,24,26 according to speed fan, so i think my cooling is up to the job, oh also i have corsair xms 1600mhz memory

haha, 5 cores!
Also, You might want to drop the multiplier and test the max BCLK that the mobo will stability produce, my UD5 cuts out at 210 so I doubt you'll manage to get that high, you may be lucky though!

Speedfan is not accurate imo,use core temp or real temp for your cores.I have a useless 930 and according to speedfan my cores are between 20 and 24c which is bull imo as ambient is not much lower than that.
As said idle temps mean f all run linx with 25k memory and then post back temps so we have realistic temps to compare.

k will use coretemp later off out for the day, will post back later will also post temps under prime 95 too cheers.

k using prime 95 now as i type after about 5 mins temps up to 60-60-59-60-57.
i have an antec 1200 case with a corsair h50 cooler.
i have mounted the h50 rad onto one of the fans at the back of the antec case which fits perfect to give a push pull setup.

ok just got core temp and they are way different like you said, cores are 78-77-74-75, during prime 95 according to core temp,
according to speedfan they dont go abve 64.

CoreTemp is better. It only shows four cores because you only have four cores. With load temps like that, I don't think you'll be able to clock much higher. 4.5ghz is certainly out. You'd need hardcore water for that and better parts I think.
