Single class planes, I prefer the back or front close to the exits so I can get off the plane quickly and not get stuck behind slow pokes which usually include 80% of the passengers.
Its like when people queue at the gate when they have a ticket number with a seat on it. Why the urge to sit on the plane for longer while everyone else boards? This behaviour has always fascinated me. Upon landing, everyone stands up, puts their jackets on, get their bag and then stand about for a few minutes until released. I just stay sitting and often one of the last out. Far more comfortable, and you only have to do more waiting once in the terminal.
Same behaviour interests me at the cinema. People are too busy to go than just stay for the moment!
Apparently, more people have survived plane crashes sitting at the back. So there you go.
True, but nobody finds you until the 2nd season.

Long haul, it's worth stumping up for business class to get away from screaming kids and fatties.

Sorry to jump on the thread but does anyone have any experience of the Boing 777-300er and the Airbus Jet, and where is best to sit?
